The Stewardship Council protects and enhances watershed lands and uses, and invests in efforts to improve the lives of young Californians through connections with the outdoors. Mission

Land Conservation –141,000 acres –22 counties 100% to be protected by easements or equivalent Approximately 50% of lands available for donation

240-acre site located in Tuolumne County 2 proposals received from: –Collaborative group: Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District, Tuolumne County, and Mother Lode Land Trust –U.S. Forest Service, Stanislaus National Forest Kennedy Meadows

40-acre site located in Tulare County 1 proposal received from U.S. Forest Service, Sequoia National Forest Doyle Springs

Bucks Lake 2,000-acre site located in Plumas County 1 proposal received from collaborative group: –Plumas County –Enterprise Rancheria –Greenville Rancheria

McArthur Swamp 7,600-acre site located in Shasta County 2 proposals received from: –Shasta County and California Waterfowl Association –Fall River RCD, Pit River Tribe, Shasta Land Trust, CA State Parks

Next Steps on Pilot Projects Complete evaluation of Land Stewardship Proposals Recommend donees for future land stewardship Negotiate and complete transaction agreements Prepare land conservation and conveyance plan Prepare and file 851 application with CPUC
