Rationale Health care staff need training immediately prior to seeing patients. Historically training is every other month or quarterly. How can staff be responsible for their actions if they don’t know the rules.

On-line Programs Roll out in-depth training that fulfilled all of State Mandated lessons. Distance learning and in-house trainers cannot offer training 24/7. Allows students to train at own pace. Adoption of on-line training by departments On-line training will never work because we need stand up trainers. Adoption of on-line training for Some training by some departments Where are we now?

Armstrong is currently developed In lecture format with slides. Can be put onto Articulate. Can offer certificate when complete. Can eventually be put on scorm compliant Learning Management System.

Armstrong and Value Value is mandated for State of CA only and prisons taking CA inmates out of State. Able to put on disk. Send to out of state locations. Meets code. Maintains continuity of training.

Has E-Learning Reached it’s Limit? E-Learning has not met critical mass. On the upswing in all fields. Armstrong is just a start. Classes analyzed to determine best method of instruction. Courses are decentralized to allow each institution to implement.

Not innovative Class not innovative for anyone other than CA. Class can easily be updated if mandates change.

Consequences Course not secret to patient- inmates. Therefore can be released without security coding. Sometimes allows individuals to get certificate without completing.
