9 Social Networking Do not accept students as friends on personal social networking sites. Decline any student- initiated friend requests. Do not initiate friendships with students. Remember that people classified as “friends” have the ability to download and share your information with others.

10 Social Networking Do not discuss students or coworkers or publicly criticize school polices or personnel. Weigh whether a particular posting puts your effectiveness as a teacher at risk. Do not use commentary deemed to be defamatory, obscene, proprietary, or libelous. Exercise caution with regards to exaggeration, colorful language, guesswork, obscenity, copyrighted materials, legal conclusions, and derogatory remarks or characterizations.

11 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION 1.0 All elementary schools will receive 75 iPad carts or1 per grade level 3-5, as funded in our Initiative approved last year. (14 schools x 75 iPads = 1050 – purchased 2011-2012 school year_ All teachers in grades K-12 will be provdied a Dell laptop with a docking station, carry bag, and security cable. Laptops will be distributed once teachers have signed their AUP for 2012-13. Teachers may take their laptops home. (1200 laptops purchased 2011-12 school year) Professional Development – Technology staff will work cooperatively with district professional development staff to provide on-going initial-advanced training for staff on instructional uses of iPads and other mobile devices.

12 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION Digital Supported Software – The list of district supported software will be provided to principals, and instructional support staff and will be posted on the district website. All software which the district will either phase out or no longer support will be clearly communicated throughout the district. All discontinued software will be removed from machines throughout the district and or access disabled. The process for schools to request a review of software is attached.

13 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION 2.0 Board of Education has authorized the purchase of an additional 2000 iPad devices to expand our efforts. This will allow us to purchase approximately 80 charging carts, MacBook airs, and 2000 covers. Deployment is as follows: 2 additional class sets (50 iPads provided per elementary school for grades 1-2 (800 iPads) 125 iPads (5 classrooms sets provided per middle school (500 devices) 125 iPads (5 classroom sets provided per high school (500 devices) 200 iPads available for special programs (75 Early College, 75 IB program, and 50 for training purposes. Deployment schedule will be developed.

21 Teacher Laptop Rollout Procedures Each school will have a designated time on August 20, 2012 that the Instructional Tech Coaches along with the Media Specialist will come to your school and issue out the teacher laptops. At that time the laptop will be checked out to the teacher and recorded in Asset Manager. Please do NOT give out the laptops! It is mandatory that we keep an accurate inventory of these.
