2. Install the Report Generator In a browser, go to http://www.vetmed.iastate.edu/Pathfinder/Faculty Click on the Report Generator link to download and install the tool

3. Report Generator Views Spreadsheet View Summaries and totals of user turn ins Diagnostic Paths View Browser through selected user solutions

4. Spreadsheet View Default view shows only students We don’t have any students in our class, so click on the “Show All Users” button If you need to see the login id for some reason, check the Show Login Id box To view only specific users, click on a cell in the user’s row. Use CTRL-click and SHIFT-click to select multiple rows Then click “Show Only Selected Users”

5. Spreadsheet View To view only certain cases, click on a cell in the column corresponding to the case you want to view or omit Use CTRL-click and SHIFT-click to select multiple columns Click on “Show Only Selected Cases” or “Omit Selected Cases” to change which cases are displayed Note: You must click on actual cells in the table, not the column headers, to select columns

6. Spreadsheet View If you are using the WebCT grade book, we have a way to generate a file that can be automatically uploaded to the grade book. Talk to me if you are interested in that feature. Otherwise, clicking Save Spreadsheet will save a tab-delimited file that can be opened in Excel Clicking Print will send the spreadsheet to a printer

7. Diagnostic Paths View This tab lets you select users and cases whose solutions you want to see Select Expert, yourself, and one other user from the left column Expert shows the expert path for the case Select both cases from the right column The lower display shows what you have selected

8. Diagnostic Paths View Click “Get Paths” The program accesses the database and downloads the requested paths, if they exist Click on the first item in the lower list. The panel on the right displays the solution for that user and case, or tells you if the solution does not exist

9. Diagnostic Paths View The Save button lets you save one or all paths as text files The Print button lets you print one or all of the paths All of the Save and Print operations are also available through the File menu

10. Switching Courses If you switch courses in the Report Generator, the main window vanishes and the database access dialog appears Once the data for the new course is downloaded, the main window appears again

11. Error Log and Version Number The report generator error log file is C:\\DiagnosticPathfinder\ReportGenErrorLog.txt The version number of the program can be found in the error log or using About under the Help menu
