Look at our slides to see our wonderful trip. By, Matt Tichacek, Alexis Floyd, Nikki Stevens, and Kirsten Heine

1.Our solar system is located in the Milky Way galaxy. 2. The Solar system is based around the sun, our nearest star, at the center.
3
1.The suns gravity keeps all the planets moving in gigantic circles around it, called orbits. 2.The sun is a star. It is the closest star to Earth, so it looks closer than other stars. 3.The sun is nearly 600 time bigger than all the planets put together.
4
1.A planet is a ball made up of either rock, metal, ice, or gasses. 2.There are eight planets. 3.The order of planets from the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. 4.Biggest to smallest: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Earth, Venus, Mars, Mercury. 5.The planets orbit the sun because of the gravity from the sun, it pulls in the planets and it makes them orbit the sun. 6.The planets from hottest to coldest are: Venus, Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
5
1.This is why the moon orbits planets: the moon spins around on its axis that is in the same time it takes to move around the earth. 2. A moon is a ball of rock spinning in space orbiting a planet.
6
1. A dwarf planet is a very small planet that orbits a sun. 2. There are eight dwarf planets: Eris Pluto Makemake Haumea Sedna Orcus Quaoar Varuna 3. The dwarf planet are located on the outskirts of our solar system, they are TNO’s, Trans-Neptunian objects.
7
An Asteroid is a small, rocky space body. Asteroids are located between Mars and Jupiter, it floats and is a small space object. Asteroids are important because they might break apart and hit some planets. Asteroids spin around on their axis’. That is in the same time it takes to orbit around the Earth.
8
1.A comet is a ball of ice, gas and rocky dirt. 2. The next time we will be able to see this comet is in 2061. 3. The path the comet will take is going around the sun then around the planets and back around the sun.
9
1.The earth only has one moon 2.A day on Earth is 23 hours and 56 minutes. 3.A year on Earth is 365.3 days. 4.There are special features like life living, iron core, four seasons, trees, water.
10
75% of Earth is Water Earth is the 3 rd planet from the sun. It is the 5 th largest planet in our Solar System. The Earth is made mostly of iron, oxygen, silicon, magnesium, nickel and sulfur.
