Tabla is used in Hindustani classical music and in traditional music of India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri-Lanka
The roots for the Tabla invention are found in India

4. Shehnai Shehnai is a woodwind instrument
Shehnai is a musical instrument similar to the oboe
It usually has between 6 to 9 holes
It is widely used in marriages, processions and in temples
The Shehnai is commonly used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Iran

5. Sitar The Sitar is a plucked string instrument
It is mainly used in Hindustani music and in Indian classical music
The instrument is believed to have derived from the Veena
The Sitar flourished in the 16th and the 17th centuries
Sitar can have 18, 19, or 20 strings
It is widely used throughout the Indian subcontinent

6. Bansuri The Bansuri is a woodwind instrument
It is made of a single hollow shaft of bamboo with six or seven finger holes
The Lord Krishna is believed to be an expert at the Bansuri
A Bansuri is used to play complex melody music
Bansuris range in size from less than 12 inches to nearly 40 inches
It is one of the world’s most ancient instruments
