The Teacher Models Folding the Book by... Folding the construction paper strip in half. Taking the open ends to meet the middle fold. Showing the students it will look like the letter M when folding is complete. M when folding is complete.

The Students will Cut Animal Report Pages by... Folding the report in half ‘hamburger’ way. Folding the report in half ‘hotdog’ way. Cut the pages into quarter size pieces following the fold lines.

The Teacher Models Placing Pages by... Showing the students how to layout the pages. Telling students what order their pages should be in as they lay them out. Instructing them to glue them on the booklet.

Students will decorate their books. Use construction paper to draw the head of the animal. Color the face of the animal. If your animal has a tail or backend, draw this with the remaining construction paper pieces and color.

The teacher instructs students to... Write the title of the animal report on the front of the booklet. Make sure the student puts their name on the cover as the ‘author’. Double check work using rubric.
