WHAT IS GLOBAL HEALTH PERSPECTIVES (GHP)? Mission To provide a safe and intentional service learning program at Denver School of Nursing that partners with like-minded and sustainable international and domestic clinical programs. Values Safety—foremost is our commitment to the emotional, psychological, and physical safety of our students Partnerships—we view and treat every patient and health care professional as a valued partner in care and wellness Sustainability—the program not only provides quality education and healthcare, but moreover, prioritizes the long-term beneficial and sustainable impact of health in each country, region, and village we partner with

HOW TO GET STARTED! 1. GHP Membership 2. Service Learning Internship 3. GHP Research Students that are involved as an active GHP member for the majority of their tenure at DSN will be recognized during graduation BSN = 4 quarters ADN = 3 quarters LPN to ADN = 3 quarters

GHPMEMBERSHIP (PER QUARTER) Attend a minimum of one (1) GHP member meeting Complete six (6) hours of community outreach / volunteering Submit volunteer journals into GHP box by the elevators on Mezzanine by March 21, 2014.

SERVICE LEARNING INTERNSHIP Satisfy general membership requirements Maintain GHP membership for a minimum of two (2) quarters and complete MedSurg Clinicals and Didactic Current Internship Partnerships: Haiti – Love Takes Root Saint Croix – Lutheran Social Services Honduras – Friends of Barnabus Foundation Rural Tenn – Remote Area Medical West Side Chicago – Lawndale Christian Clinic Uganda – The Mango Project Peru – Centura Health Developing Internships Partnerships: China South Africa Philippians
