13 Budget: “How much does it cost?” — We will love for all the students who want to go to be able to afford it. — Right now we have the quote from a travel agency for $1300 for airfare. — We are still looking for a cheaper airfare to lower the cost for our students. — Site visit during the trip is approximately $200 per student. — The price of the train for Germany ( we have not determine the city from which we will be living to go to Sarreguemines. ( the down payment is refundable in case : - _ the students cancel before airfare reservation is made. - _ DeKalb county doesn’t approve the trip. - _ The trip is cancelled for any safety reasons.

14 Provisional Trip Expenses Minimum of 10 participants Total per participant TBD but could be around $1500 Total cost includes: airfare, ground transportation, daily excursions, chaperones, insurance Personal Expenses: o Passport Book (Age 16 & Older) $100 or o Passport Book (Under Age 16) $85 o Spending money- approximately $300 o Gifts for host family $50

15 How do I Apply? Complete the Host Information Form Agree to the Conditions of Participation Complete the two release forms-one for France and one for DHS Turn in to Mrs. Ouanzin or Mr. Kessel by: DATE, along with $25 fee

16 When will I know if I have been accepted? You will be notified by April 23 if you have been accepted into the program. Once you are accepted, you and your parents will need to attend the DATE? Parent Organizational Meeting at 6:00 pm. At that time, we will verify that the trip is set, we will organize payment due dates, look at travel supplies and suitcase issues, etc. Parents and students will meet again in DATE to finalize details.

17 Student Meetings Attendance is required by all students. We will meet at the school, one Sunday afternoon from 2:00 till 4:00 pm before the trip. These meetings will: -provide you with necessary skills for safe traveling. -give you the background knowledge to appreciate what you will be experiencing. -show me your reliability, responsibility and interest. -build group cohesion.
