2 Background Information  April 23, 2010 Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed Senate Bill 1070, the “Support our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act.”  On April 30, 2010 Governor Brewer amended Senate Bill 1070 and added immigration provisions.

3 Recent News  November 1 st -Hearing before a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals  The panel is considering whether to let a temporary hold on the law stand while the constitutionality of the statute is weighed.  NAACP, American Civil Liberties Union, National Immigration Law Center and other organizations are currently fighting the law with a class action lawsuit.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oBoJIcxu74 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oBoJIcxu74
