7 KAPPA SIGMA Committed to supporting  Military Heroes Campaign  Provides charitable donations to Fisher House

8 TAU KAPPA EPSILON Committed to supporting  The Alzheimer's Association  St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital  The Boys Scouts of America.

9 WHAT DID MY CLIENT WANT?  Revamp the presence of Greek life at Rogers State University within the community  Involve the Greeks in promotion, preparation and increasing financial contributions for the Rogers County “Relay for Life Walk”

10 PROJECT DEVELOPMENT  In meeting with people:  Candice Apt-client  Alpha Sigma Alpha President and Philanthropy chair  Kappa Sigma’s Vice President  Tau Kappa Epsilon President  Presented proposal to Alpha Sigma Tau Philanthropy chair as well as the Chapter Advisor, Dan Hardt.

11 PROJECT RATIONALE Get all four Greek organizations involved in raising money and participating in activities hosted by the RSU Greeks. ie. The Tabling and Kickball game

12 PROJECT RATIONALE  Give the Greek members the opportunity to interact with members of the community  Enable them to communicate for other major events that occur either on campus or in the community.  A goal to get more students on campus involved in each event.

13 WHAT IS A PHILANTHROPY? A service project adopted by an organization on a campus or in a community, in this instance, the Greeks take on multiple philanthropies.

14 SKILLS USED  Creating and publishing content online  Content development  Writing and producing media  Graphic design  Video editing  Strong written and oral communications and organizational skills

19 BUDGET  Shirts for Relay $ 5.25 each with sponsorship. Equaling $315.00  Supplies for the game- $35.00  Radio spots on 91.3 KRSC-FM Free  Camera from friend Free  Refreshments donated by CAT  Volunteer pricing 7.25 per hour- for 5 hours maximum=$36.25 per person. For 40 persons equals up to $1,450 per person for this allotted time.

24 WHY PICK THIS PROJECT?  Learn more about the sororities and fraternities on campus.  Learn about the goals and missions of each organization  Future generations of Greek members to know and understand the importance of philanthropies and serving others.

25 LONGEVITY  Help chapters and colonies by:  Making them more visible on campus and in the community  This project has the potential to reach the national levels of the organizations involved  Allow Greek life to flourish and increase numbers and potentially allowing them to access larger events to help others.

26 CHALLENGES  Lack of Greek Community Awareness  Getting the organizations comfortable with the ideas that I knew would help them to strive in working with the community.

27 WHAT WAS LEARNED  Coordination of responsibilities  Resolving scheduling conflicts  Dealing with production delays

28 WHAT WAS GAINED In doing this project I learned that people are willing to do almost anything embarrassing to raise money for a good cause.

30 WHAT WAS RECEIVED?  Full participation by all 4 Greek organizations  Consistent support from Rogers County Relay for Life Event Coordinators  Full support from the Greek Life Coordinator  Full backing from the RSU Administration, faculty, and staff.

31 WHAT DO YOU THINK?  “The game was amazing! I was timid about the idea at first, but once I got there I was excited”-Bethany McFerron, AST  “Kickball was such a great idea. It helped to raise awareness for Greek life while doing such an amazing thing for cancer research”- Kayla Conkling, AST
