1. PIDB and Department of Transport,Punjab Invites Expression of Interest (EoI) from Bus Manufacturers/ Suppliers for supply of buses for City Bus Services in Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana Government of Punjab (GoP), through incorporation of Special Purpose Company (SPC/ SPV) intends to provide good quality and efficient city bus services in the cities of Punjab. The city buses shall be modern, low floor, wide-doors, aesthetically appealing and spacious buses having various features for benefit of commuters viz. on-line GPS and PIS for real-time information on expected arrival of buses, hand-held ticketing machines, and provision of monthly passes. The project is being developed and implemented under a sustainable Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model. Initially the services will be started in the cities of Amritsar, Jalandhar & Ludhiana. Subsequently more cities will be covered under similar model. M/s IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation is the project development advisor to GoP for this project. City Bus Services Project Brief The office of Director, State Transport, Govt. of Punjab has laid down minimum specifications of buses to be deployed for city transport services by private bus operators to be selected in each of the cities. These specifications are available at PIDB’s website www.pidb.org and IL&FS website www.ilfsindia.com. The buses shall be bought directly by the private bus operators by placing orders on suitable bus manufacturers/ suppliers.www.pidb.orgwww.ilfsindia.com Expression of Interest (EOI) are invited now from prospective bus manufacturers/ suppliers along with the following details of their bus models meeting the minimum laid-down specifications : (a)Technical specifications (b)Number of buses of the offered model already supplied and key customers (c)Indicative price (d)Estimated operating costs and life-cycle costs (e)Indicative Cost of Annual Maintenance Contract and/ or Total Maintenance Contract (f)Service Support in the three cities (g)Number of buses that can be supplied by end-October 2006 Invitation for Expression of Interest Interested Parties may send their “Expression of Interest” so as to reach by 1630 hrs on October 18, 2006, to IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, at the address mentioned below.
