Introducing the FSA ID FSA adopted the best practice of using a username and password instead of personal information The FSA ID Requires users to enter less information (2 fields instead of 4) Provides more secure access to user’s information Links to the PIN information during registration Allows users to update personal information such as last name changes without applying for a new FSA ID (Lifetime ID) The FSA ID (username and password) replaced the PIN for students, parents and borrowers accessing FSA systems on May 10, 2015 New FSA ID login Old PIN login The FSA ID will modernize access for students, parents and borrowers to FSA systems 2

Introducing the FSA ID Users still click the Sign in button. This directs them to the FSA ID login page. Only if you already have a PIN… Linking your PIN allows you to Link your SSA Match Information Transfer your address / contact information from the PIN database There is no requirement that you link your PIN and you can create an FSA ID without linking your PIN Will require a new SSA Match (1-3 days) Will require you to enter your contact information This is similar to creating a new PIN If you have multiple PINS, you can link all of them 11

In this email, there is a secure code. 1.Enter the secure code 2.Click Continue Verifying your email address provides added security and access to functionality: Use your email address as your Username for login Use your email instead of answering challenge questions for Forgot Password and Forgot Username issues Verifying your email is optional

View your FSA ID Profile or Edit Your FSA ID 32 Instructions / Explanation with links to Edit My FSA ID Edit My Challenge Questions Change My Password Disable My FSA ID Notes: Passwords expire every 18 months Disabling your account is an excellent way to protect your account from fraud while you are abroad or will not be applying for aid for an extended period

Forgot Username – Email 36 The are two options for retrieving your username or password. A secure code can be emailed to you for access or you can answer three challenge questions.
