To Ensure the Future Availability of Electromagnetic Spectrum for Telemetering. MISSION: International Foundation For Telemetering 37 th Annual International Telemetering Conference Rivera Hotel, Las Vegas NV, 25 October 2001
3
FACTORS Radio Frequency utilization increasing. Telemetry critical to economic/security goals. Telemetry bands reallocated or threatened. Increased demand for Telemetry & Commercial Spectrum. More Telemetry band allocations difficult. International Foundation For Telemetering 37 th Annual International Telemetering Conference Rivera Hotel, Las Vegas NV, 25 October 2001
4
COMMON CONCERNS Science of Telemetry little understood. Telemetry economic benefits hard to quantify. No cohesive Telemetry advocate group for Regional/World Conferences. National Delegations Telemetry-naive. Telemetry spectrum technically attractive for reallocation. International Foundation For Telemetering 37 th Annual International Telemetering Conference Rivera Hotel, Las Vegas NV, 25 October 2001

OBJECTIVES To create a forum for information exchange on Telemetry issues. To inform spectrum managers of the economic/ security importance of Telemetry. Invite open participation of all Telemetry practitioners. Share information on the use/research & development of new Telemetry technologies. International Foundation For Telemetering 37 th Annual International Telemetering Conference Rivera Hotel, Las Vegas NV, 25 October 2001

WRC-2005/6 Agenda Item 2.12: to consider spectrum requirement for wideband aeronautical telemetry in the band between 3 GHz and 30 GHz. ICTS Working Group formed to develop a paper addressing the feasibility of new bands. ICTS Members to conduct country studies to identify candidate frequency bands & bandwidths. Next ICTS Meeting: ETC 2002/Garmisch Germany/ 27-30 May 2002 ICTS WORKING GROUP International Foundation For Telemetering 37 th Annual International Telemetering Conference Rivera Hotel, Las Vegas NV, 25 October 2001
