Genetically Modified Organisms Jonathan Wyatt Brianna Smith

GMOs  Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are living things that, during the early stages of life, undergo some sort of unnatural genetic change.  GMOs are most commonly seen in the agriculture community with seed modifications.

The pros  We get weather- and pest-resistant strains of sustaining crops (wheat, corn, cotton, potatoes).  We can bring crops to areas that previously couldn’t provide enough recourses to sustain farming.

The cons  GMOs are not regulated by the FDA.  We are literally placing a copyright on living things.  Monsanto, the world’s leading producer of genetically modified crops, holds a firm monopoly on the GMO business.
