3 THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN Established in 1961 by President Kennedy Responsibility of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) For all Federal Employees world wide Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) responsible for local campaign The Principal Combined Fund Organization (PCFO) United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona

12 SOLICITATION METHODS Group Solicitation: Pulling everyone together in a group setting to give information about the campaign. The solicitation is made prior to conclusion of the meeting.

13 SOLICITATION METHODS Steps to a Successful Group Solicitation Set the dates and time for your group solicitation. Distribute pledge cards and campaign brochures at the presentation. Ask for a gift at the guideline or an increase above last year. Answer any questions or concerns. Follow-up Ensure 100% contact.

21 PLEDGE CARDS List the five-digit code for each charitable organization you wish to support and the annual gift to each. All designations must add up to the total gift amount. (Please check your math.)

22 PLEDGE CARDS Signify whether you wish for your name, HOME address, email address and/or pledge amount be released to the charities you selected. This information will only be released to your selected charities.

23 PLEDGE CARDS Sign and date your form.

24 PLEDGE CARDS Check applicable box if your gift is $120 or more and you would like to receive the CFC gift recognition. If not, check “No gift desired”.

25 PLEDGE CARDS KEEP COPY 3 (YELLOW) FOR YOUR RECORDS. Give copies 1 & 2 (both white) to your CFC Project Officer, Unit Coordinator, or Key Worker. Project Officers/Unit Coordinators/Key Workers: Please send only copy 2 to the CFC Office (United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona) as they are the PCFO for the Arizona CFC. Copy 1 goes to your agency’s payroll office.

For the Number of Contributors side fill in the number of contributors at each giving level. The total number of contributions should equal the total number of contributors listed.
