More than 2000 years ago, many travelers wrote about incredible sights they had seen on their journeys. Over time, these came to be known as the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”. Unfortunately, most of the ancient wonders no longer exist. What are they?

In Egypt. Built about 2600 B.C.E. They are the only ancient wonder still standing today. Pyramids of Giza

In Iraq. Built: Unknown Hanging Gardens of Babylon

In Turkey. Built in the 6 th century B.C.E. The tower was built to honor Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Temple of Artemis

In Greece. Built in the 5 th century B.C.E. The statue was built to honor the king of all the Greek gods. Statue of Zeus
