Traditional dances Traditional Lithuanian choreography includes dances, rounds and games. Most of them are merely for fun but there are also very interesting ritual dances and rounds which are linked to calendar, work and wedding rituals.

Aukštaitija stands out for its abudance of rounds. In the long run even their songs became rounds. Suvalkija has plenty of linear and playful rounds which illustrate song text contents. In Dzūkija you can find plenty of ritual choreography which is mostly linked with Christmas time and wedding rituals. Dances are the most common and mostly created in Žemaitija. This region has more dances that are not very popular in other regions.
