Inverurie Academy Faculty of Expressive Arts:Music Tour to Lake Garda - Italy 8 th -12 th June 2015

Tour objectives On our tour, we will: Perform 3 Concerts at different outdoor venues Enjoy a day trip to Venice Spend a day in Garda Land – largest Theme Park in Italy Visit the city of Verona

Tour overview We will depart from Inverurie Academy by coach on 8 th June 2015 and travel to an Airport (name TBC) and fly to Verona. We will stay at a 3 star hotel name TBC for 4 nights, and will return home on 12 th June 2015 by plane and coach

What will we see & do? Perform 3 outdoor concerts – venues TBC

What will we see & do? Spend a day in Gardaland – Italy’s largest theme park

Our accommodation We will be staying at a 3* hotel – the name will be confirmed later. We will be staying on a full board basis – breakfast lunch and evening meal included

Our meal arrangements On the outward and inward journey you will be expected to pay for your own food/drinks If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let me know well in advance.

What’s included in the price? Our tour cost of approx £900.00per person includes: Return transportation by plane Our own coach while in Italy Travel Insurance UK Airport assistance 4 night’s [full-board accommodation] Travel insurance 1 Venice City Permit Tour Guide/Concert Courier for our concerts Because the tour is in 2015 – all prices are subject to change, its too early to book anything.

We are looking to take 60 musicians/dancers – less than this makes it more expensive An Orchestra, a Concert Band, a Choir, guitars and Highland Dancers with pipers. From the above it would be great to have a brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, an a cappella ensemble and a guitar group.. If you are not currently a member or any of the school music groups but would like to come on the tour – no problem join the group/s of your choice in August – we would love to have you as part of the team.. Who can go?

FUNDRAISING For additional excursions/tour t shirts/a coach from school to the airport/the cost of transporting the instruments we will have to raise extra money – any ideas you have to help us do this are welcome.

Travel tips - Passports All students travelling must hold a full passport with 12 months of validity remaining on it after the date of our return. If a new passport is needed, it is recommended that you apply at least 10 weeks before we depart, especially if a visa is required.

Next steps First deposit - If you wish to join this visit, can you please let me know by 27 th August.I will require an initial no refundable £60.00 deposit to secure your booking at this stage. A monthly payment plan will then be set up from Sept ‘13.
