How to Take this Training
In order to access the hyperlinks and view all of the content on each slide in this Power Point, you MUST view it in Slide Show mode. If Power Point opens from within Power Point (in Edit mode), please follow these steps to play the slide show: On the bottom status bar, click the Slide Show icon. If you cannot see the bottom status bar, click Slide Show on the top menu, and then click From Current Slide or From Beginning. The easiest way to view this training in Slide Show mode is to press the F5 function key on your keyboard. 4/25/2017

Learning – Browsing for Training
4/25/2017 Learning – Browsing for Training From any page, hover the cursor over the Learning tab and click Browse for Training from the drop-down menu. Now, let’s discuss some important Learning Definitions you will need throughout the LMS. Event Events are Instructor Led learning objects (classrooms and webinars) also know as ILTs (Instructor Led Trainings) Events are not scheduled and do not have a location They provide details of that classroom or live webinar learning object. When registering for sessions Events are what you will click on first to then choose a scheduled Session of that Event Sessions Are scheduled, with a location. They will provide the same details (or Event Information) as their parent Event provides… plus Dates Times Locations Directions Special instructions Attachments (job aids, pre-work, etc.) Courses Refer to online courses only These are online and the instruction is not LIVE. Materials Also, in the LMS there are Learning Materials provided for you. These may include though not limited to: articles Job aids Documents Recorded webinars Worthwhile url links Learning Objects All of what we just mentioned are termed Learning Objects. Each Event Each Session is actually a child of its Event Learning Object Each Course Each Material are all learning objects Tests and evaluations (usually associated with another learning object) are also learning objects. Curriculums Are at least 2 Learning Objects grouped together. They have minimum completion requirements. Curriculums can be small, Requiring completion of 1 session and 1 related test. Medium sized New worker trainings are often curriculums Requiring completion of several sessions, related tests, evaluations and perhaps materials Or Large One curriculum may including other curriculums Perhaps requiring completion of The New worker training curriculum Completion of additional trainings at their 1 year anniversary Additional trainings at their 2 year anniversary Other required trainings, like Civil Rights. 4/25/2017

Filtering your Training Searches
4/25/2017 Filtering your Training Searches You can filter Learning Objects (LO) by: Subject Type (online, ILT, material, video, test) The Browse for Training page enables users to browse for training by subject, date, learning object type and location. Users are only able to view the training items that are available to them, based on the availability of the learning objects (LOs). When viewing the Browse for Training page, if a user is registered for any session that is upcoming, the system displays a notification at the top of the page. Clicking View All on that notice will display all of the user’s upcoming sessions. On the Browse for Training page, the following information is displayed for each learning object item in the training results: LO Icon - The icon that is displayed corresponds with the type of LO. For example, event, online course, curriculum, material or test. The LO Title - Click the LO title to view the LO Details page. The Learning Object Type (associated with the icon previously mentioned) The Provider (OWDT) for example. The LO Description Date Range Location 4/25/2017

4/25/2017 Top - Training Details Clicking on the title of the training from the Browse for Training page displays the Training Details. This is the top half of the Training Details page; the top is informational only. 4/25/2017

4/25/2017 Bottom - Training Details For instructor led training (classroom and webinar), you can register by clicking the button. 4/25/2017

4/25/2017 Training Transcript If you must withdraw from the training, click on the right side of the blue status box and from the drop-down click Withdraw and select another session if you wish. Once registered your transcript displays all instructor led trainings with a date to attend, as well as all Online Trainings in progress or completed. To see the details of the training, additional resources related to the training or attachments that may be associated with the training, click on the training title or “View Training Details”. 4/25/2017

4/25/2017 Training Details Clicking View Map brings up Google Maps with the address of the training location populated. Clicking the training title or View Training Details from your Training Transcript displays the full training details. Clicking Add to Calendar will open an appointment screen on your Outlook calendar, so you can add the training to your calendar. 4/25/2017

4/25/2017 Online Trainings An Online Training may be taken at any time. To start an Online Training, simply click on the title of the training you would like to start. 4/25/2017

Launching an Online Training
4/25/2017 Launching an Online Training Clicking on an Online Training title immediately brings you to the page to launch the training. Click to begin the training. The training will not populate on your training transcript unless you launch the training. If you launch the Online Training, but get interrupted or need to complete the training later, you can exit without finishing. An online training exited without finishing will appear on your training transcript as “In progress”. Once you complete the training, it will appear on your training transcript as “Completed”. 4/25/2017

From any page, hover the cursor over the Learning tab and click Events Calendar from the drop-down menu.

Using the Events Calendar
4/25/2017 Using the Events Calendar Across the top of your Events Calendar you can choose to view your calendar by Day, Week or Month. The Agenda feature is displayed on the next slide. When All Events is selected, you have several options to filter and/or display every event offered. Your “Location” may default to a predetermined location. If you would like to see all locations, simply click the “X” and the location will default to “All”. When My Events is selected, the filters on the left of the calendar change to allow you to filter based on the status of the event. My Events is selected for the remainder of this training. 4/25/2017

Events Calendar Agenda
4/25/2017 Events Calendar Agenda The Events Calendar Agenda displays all events for the month you choose to view. Clicking the event title either from your Events Calendar or the Agenda will take you to the Training Details screen.

The LMS Browsing for Training is the second of three modules that will help you use your new Learning Management System. The Welcome Page: LMS definitions, Access, Page Features, Global Search and Help. Browse for Training: Access filtering your learning objects, viewing training details and registering for a Learning Object via Browse for Training and the Events Calendar.
