Think about Member Types as simply, Record Types. Defined: They are a way to categorize your members into smaller buckets to grant them permissions and benefits within the system.

1.Event Registration and additional options: a.Even though all of the members below are “Paying Members” of the association, you may want to charge them differently for events that they may attend or for purchases they make in the store. b.If this is the case, you need to make sure that you have member types to decipher the pricing differences. Memberships are the options that members/users have when joining or renewing with your organization. Memberships are usually based on Term and/or Pricing.

Dues Calculation Rules

If you have more than just Base fees for your memberships, you may need to utilize Dues Rules. Defined: Fees based on values from a members’ profile. Dues Rules can be calculated or a base fee. For Example: A company may pay a base fee of $1000 and then be charged according to how many employees they have. Calculation: # of Employees x $6.00 =

Dues Calculation Rules Example Note: Instead of using a “membership calculator”, your software will run these calculations behind the scenes instantly for registration and renewals once the dues calculations are configured.

Defined: These are fees that can be a base amount or factored (only multiplied) options during registration or renewal. For Example: Would you like to be included in the online membership directory? Yes or No (a base fee will be applied if answer is yes) How many years have you worked in the industry? 3 years x $10 = $30
