GOD HAS A POSITIVE ANSWER When faced with issues or problems, God is who we should look to — not the world

We say, “It’s impossible.” God says, “All things are possible.” Luke 18:27: “But He said, ‘The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.’” II Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient.” Hebrews 11:6: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him.” Because of God, all things are possible.

We say, “I’m too tired.” God says, “I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” A personal invitation from Jesus. Jesus wants to provide rest for us; relief from the burdens of this life. We’ve all said this saying, whether we’re mentally, physically or spiritually tired. But the Word of God can cure all ailments.

We say, “I can’t figure things out.” God says, “I will direct your steps.” Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

We say, “I can’t do it.” God says, “You can do all things.” Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Parable of the talents: Matt. 25:14-30. The one-talent servant was unprofitable. His actions said, “I can’t do it.” Are you a profitable servant or an unprofitable servant?

We say, “It’s not worth it.” God says, “It will be worth it.” Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” God has a plan for each of us. He is the potter; we are the clay.

Circumstances may say, “It’s not worth it.” A guarantee: Whatever challenges you are facing, it will be worth it if you endure them. I Peter 3:14: “But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed.” I Peter 4:16: “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.” Revelation 2:10: “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

We say, “I’m always worried and frustrated.” God says, “Cast all your cares on Me.” I Peter 5:7: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” How comforting is that thought? Matthew 6:25-34: Jesus explains why we should not worry. Present your cares and concerns to Him.

We say, “I’m not smart enough.” God says, “I give you wisdom.” I Corinthians 1:30: “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” I Corinthians 3:19: “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” James 3:13: “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.” James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

It’s up to us to grow II Peter 3:18: “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” I Peter 2:2: “as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”

How spiritually mature are you? Hebrews 5:12-14: “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

We say, “I feel all alone.” God says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5: “Let you conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” Matthew 28:20: “lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” James 4:8: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

Psalm 19 This Psalm of David is a microcosm of what God and His Word have to offer. Focus on v. 7-11. Law of the Lord is “perfect” (v. 7). Six words describe law of the God: law, testimony, statutes, commandment, fear and judgments. Each one comes with an evaluation: law is perfect; testimony is true; statues are right; commandment is pure; fear is clean; and judgments are true. Six results: converting the soul; making wise the simple; rejoicing the heart; enlightening the eyes; enduring forever; and righteous altogether. Put it all together, you get perfection and the key to life.

What is our desire? As much as we may desire the things of this world, our desire for the word of God should be unparalleled. Value of the Scriptures cannot be compared with anything else. V. 14: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

Conclusion The Lord should be our Rock. Because He purchased our freedom with His Son’s shed blood, that warrants our obedience and submission. Have you been obedient and submissive?
