4.  A property that can be described using the five senses.  See, smell, taste, touch, hear  Observing the physical properties does not change or damage the substance to learn about it. We use our sense to observe the properties, we DO NOT change the substance.  Ex: Mass, density, color, size, texture etc.

5.  Describes a substances ability to react with other substances  We must change the identity of a substance to observe the chemical properties.  These changes are almost always irreversible  Ex: Combustion, Acidity, Rusting
