- What is the role of the Excretory system in the human body? What is the role of the Excretory system in the human body? The excretory system is used for getting rid of harmful wastes such as urine. If the waste builds up it will interfere with the balance of oxygen, water and nutrients needed for cell development. The main vital organs in the excretory system are the kidneys and bladder. 3

What are the major organs In the Excretory system? What are the major organs In the Excretory system? The major organs that are in the excretory system are…  Kidneys – Are bean shapes organs that filter waste from the blood.  Ureters- Are a thick long tube that carry waste from the kidneys to the bladder  Urethra- Is a tube that Carries urine from the bladder out of the body.  Bladder- Elastic muscular Sacs in the pelvis that store liquid waste which is urine. 4

How do the organs work together? The Kidneys filter harmful molecules out of the blood that pass through them. The Ureters, Bladder, and Urethra they form the urinary tract which drains urine from the kidneys to store it then releases it when you urinate. After the kidney filter the blood the clean blood goes back in your blood stream. If the molecules aren't removed they are toxic to the body. 5

4 Explain how your system is connected to two other body parts. The excretory system is connected to the circulatory system because the blood from your heart goes through the kidneys to filter the blood. Next it is sent back to your heart. The excretory system is also works with the digestive system because the digestive system breaks down to send nutrients to the body and the waste goes to the excretory system and is removed from the body. 6

What are the levels of organization in the human body? What are the levels of organization in the human body?  organism Human body  organ Bladder  tissue epithelial tissue  Cell Epithelial Cells  organism Human body  organ Bladder  tissue epithelial tissue  Cell Epithelial Cells The first level of organization is the organism which is the Human body. The second level is the organ which is the Bladder. The third level is the tissue which is the epithelial tissue and finally is the cell which is the epithelial Cells. 7

Kidney Stones Kidney stones are small calcium deposits that are seen in the nephrons. They can become infected and vary in size. Symptoms can be blood in urine, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. 8

Cystitis C ystitis is inflammation of the bladder. It is a common infection of the urinary tract. Symptoms are blood in urine and cloudy urine also Radiation therapy. 9

The How we can maintain our health system specific to our system? In order for the waste production system to work well we need to drink 3-4 pints of fluid every day. You can also eat more fruits and vegetables and grain products. We can try and avoid processed foods and don’t smoke and exercise every single day. 10

Two Professions That Work With The Excretory System (urinary system) Transplant surgeons- Transplant surgeons are doctors that will replace your kidney with another healthy persons kidney if they are willing enough to donate one of there kidneys. Transplant surgeons replace an unhealthy kidney with a healthy donors kidney. Transplant surgeons normally just work at hospitals. 11

Urologist- a urologist is a doctor who specializes in the urinary system. Urologists are a type of doctor (surgeon). Urology involves medical management of disease. Urologists also manage afflictions. Urologist also work at hospitals. 12

Five Facts about the Excretory System 1-The Bladder of a Human is nearly the same size as the average brain. 2-The left Kidney is usually higher than the right. 3-Kidney stones can be the size of a golf ball. 4-We can still survive with one Kidney. 5-The kidneys have the highest blood flow. 13
