Knowledge Transfer Grant 2011-12 The allocation of KTG is driven by historic income data collected as a set of metrics Relative success in securing external income is rewarded with a greater share of funding Horizon Fund –Strategic use of KE support ~£10 -15 million to Scottish universities UHI KTG (20011-12) £639,000

KTG 2012-13 Funding allocations for individual universities - March 2012 –Focus on: Larger scale projects –to stimulate sustainable linkages between academia and industry Support for strategic projects that demonstrably support economic growth New conditions of grant: “easy access IP” model in place by 2012-13 Establishment of a single KE office within the next 2 years Individual outcome agreements

Changes to KTG reporting Institutions must now return 4 sets of information/data: 1.Strategic KE documents 2. Information on the use of KTG 3. Statistics for the output from KE activity 4. Narratives describing the impacts of KE activity
