The Steering Committee’s tasks are: Review of resource status and Project progress Preparation on major changes in the implementation plan including re-distribution of the budget, to be approved by the Governing Board Monitoring of scientific and technical progress (improve quality of reports) Composition of the Steering Committee The Steering Committee is composed of: -The Design Study Coordinator as the Chairperson -The FAIR Project Leader -The GSI Director -One representative of each of the five Design Projects J. Eschke, GSI DIRAC secondary beams – EU Design Study for FAIR Signing of documents At the meeting of the Governing Board the representatives of the participating institutes will receive: a.) a copy of the EU contract b.) 3 signed accession froms (to the contract) c.) a signature page for the consortium agreement. These documents should be signed within 2 weeks and returned to the coordinator until the end of April! The Description of Work (Annex I to the contract) and the final version of the consortium agreement will be distributed by e-mail!

February 2005 (duration 36 months) EC financial contribution for all contractors will be transferred to the coordinator GSI (Article 8). The pre-financing for the first 18 months of the contract will be 3.96 Mio € (44% of 9 Mio €).  GSI will transfer the 44% of the EC contribution to each contractor.
