Repeat yourself – again and again and again Be personal – using words such as ‘we’ and ‘I’ Use questions – do you think this makes people more involved? Play on emotions – make people laugh, feel sorry for you, guilty or afraid IF YOU ARE WRITING TO PERSUADE

Avoid stereotyping Use a good range of reliable sources Try to humanise your story by using individual examples WRITING ABOUT GLOBAL ISSUES
