With current events, unlikely that either will pass soon

Details of bills Green chemistry defined as “chemistry and chemical engineering to design chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances while producing high quality products through safe and efficient manufacturing processes” The President shall establish –Green Chemistry Research and Development Program –Interagency Working Group

Regional Activities New England Green Chemistry Consortium (NEGCC) –Collaborative research activities between land grant university systems in New England (VT, CT, ME, NH, MA, RI) –Industrial partners include Dow, DuPont, International Paper, etc. –Focus includes GC educational tools and policy work to enhance promotion of GC in the region

TURI Activities Quarterly meetings with industry, academia and government to keep abreast of green chemistry innovations in Massachusetts Meetings planned for October, February, April and June
