3 Types of Reproduction  1. Asexual – there is only one parent. The offspring is genetically alike the parent.  Different types of Asexual Reproduction.  1. Binary fission – a parent cell splits in half and produces two new cells. A Paramecium splitting into two. 2 daughter cells

4 2. Budding – an organism grows a bulge, which eventually breaks off the parent cell.  A potato is a good example.

6 3. Vegetative Propagation – cutting or growing a new plant from a piece of a plant.  Cut a part of a plant and put it in water, roots will start to appear and grow into a new plant.

7 4. Regeneration – allows an organism to grow back parts that may become missing or worn away.
