“Kinetic” refers to motion. “Kinetic Energy” is the energy an object has because of its motion. “Kinetic Theory”:“All matter consists of tiny particles that are in constant motion”
3
If particles are in constant motion and “Kinetic” refers to motion, the two correlate! Q.E.D
4
The particles in a gas are considered to be small hard spheres with insignificant volume. The motion of the particles in a gas is rapid, constant and random. All collisions between particles in a gas are perfectly elastic.
5
The particles are relatively far apart. Between these particles there is empty space. Because there is empty space there are no attractive or repulsive forces existing between the particles.
6
In an elastic collision, kinetic energy is transferred without loss from one particle to another, so it remains constant. Elastic collision occurs between gas particles.
