 “Kinetic” refers to motion.  “Kinetic Energy” is the energy an object has because of its motion.  “Kinetic Theory”:“All matter consists of tiny particles that are in constant motion”

 If particles are in constant motion and “Kinetic” refers to motion, the two correlate!  Q.E.D

 The particles in a gas are considered to be small hard spheres with insignificant volume.  The motion of the particles in a gas is rapid, constant and random.  All collisions between particles in a gas are perfectly elastic.

 The particles are relatively far apart.  Between these particles there is empty space.  Because there is empty space there are no attractive or repulsive forces existing between the particles.

 In an elastic collision, kinetic energy is transferred without loss from one particle to another, so it remains constant.  Elastic collision occurs between gas particles.

 Blah blah  BLAH
