Class outline This class is intended to provide you with an full MOP about ProTraq NSP on IXP. Class outline includes the following sections : Requirements to use ProTraq NSP on IXP General Points Analyze the current DFP configuration Adding a DFP Operation Operate ProTraq NSP Apply a ProTraq configuration to an IXP session Apply the IXP configuration to validate the ProTraq activation A new DFP Storage to apply. Training documentation ‘06 | 2 Notes 2

Requirements to use ProTraq NSP on IXP Training documentation ‘06 | 3 Notes 3

General Points The IXP Data Flow Processing Chain is composed of multiple DFP Processes : a process DFP Building (using MSUs/PDUs to build xDRs) a process DFP Operation (OPTIONAL) a process DFP Storage (to store xDRs and KPIs to the Oracle Database) DFP Operation is mandatory for the usage ProTraq NSP If the session you want to use as source for a ProTraq configuration is NOT using a DFP Operation : Need to add it manually This DFP Operation must have the same name as the session If the DFP Operation has been created with the help of the IXP configuration assistant, the DFP Operation will have the same name as the session. Training documentation ‘06 | 4 Notes 4

Analyze the current DFP configuration Head to the IXP > Configure > Distribution menu Here it is possible to find out the chaining of the different DFP processes Locate your chaining of DFP and check if there is a DFP Operation between the DFP Building and the DFP Storage Here we have a Building followed by a Storage : a DFP Operation should be added in between, its name being the same as the session name If there was a DFP Operation with the same name as the session name, you could jump to the next section of the MOP. Training documentation ‘06 | 5 Notes 5

Adding a DFP Operation (1/8) Head to the IXP > Configure > Data flow processings menu Hit the + button to add a new DFP Training documentation ‘06 | 6 Notes 6

Adding a DFP Operation (2/8) Configure the new DFP Operation Name must be the same as the session created by this DFP chain In our example the session name is My_MAP_TDR User information : a comment to describe the DFP Operation Active : checked, else it will not do anything DFP type will be Operation, of course. Hit the Next button to continue Training documentation ‘06 | 7 Notes 7

Adding a DFP Operation (3/8) Choose the Input stream (xDR) It must be the Output stream from the DFP Building of your DFP chain Input filters are not mandatory Hit the Next button Training documentation ‘06 | 8 Notes 8

Adding a DFP Operation (4/8) Enter an Output stream name It will be used in input of the DFP Storage of your current DFP chain For this example we used the name My_MAP_TDR_Operation_out Output format is not mandatory Hit the Next Button to complete the DFP Operation configuration Training documentation ‘06 | 9 Notes 9

Adding a DFP Operation (5/8) Modify the DFP Storage Output of the DFP Operation should be used as input of the DFP Storage Hit the DFP Storage name to enter its configuration menu Training documentation ‘06 | 10 Notes 10

Adding a DFP Operation (6/8) Enter the Inputs tab Check the output stream of the DFP Operation previously created In this example, it is My_MAP_TDR_Operation_out Hit the Accept Button to complete the DFP Operation configuration Training documentation ‘06 | 11 Notes 11

Adding a DFP Operation (7/8) Go back to the Distribution menu Affect an IXP server to the DFP Operation Hit the Accept Button to complete the DFP Operation configuration Training documentation ‘06 | 12 Notes 12

Adding a DFP Operation (8/8) Apply the changes Confirm with the OK button Training documentation ‘06 | 13 Notes 13

Operate ProTraq NSP Training documentation ‘06 | 14 Notes 14

Apply a ProTraq configuration to an IXP session (1/2) Head to ProTraq NSP and select the configuration you want to use Add the xDR session created by IXP in the list so to apply the configuration In our example it will be My_MAP_TDR Training documentation ‘06 | 15 Notes 15

Apply a ProTraq configuration to an IXP session (2/2) Activate the configuration so that it will be ready to produce statistic results Training documentation ‘06 | 16 Notes 16

Apply the IXP configuration To validate the ProTraq activation Training documentation ‘06 | 17 Notes 17

A new DFP storage to apply (1/2) Head to the Distribution menu of IXP The activation of the ProTraq configuration created a new DFP storage dedicated store the procuced KPIs. Affect an IXP server Hit the Accept Button to complete the new DFP Storage configuration Training documentation ‘06 | 18 Notes 18

A new DFP storage to apply (2/2) Apply the changes Confirm with the OK button Training documentation ‘06 | 19 Notes 19
