2 DID YOU KNOW? Crump Elementary school is a federally funded school wide NCLB/Title I school. NCLB/Title I requires that schools create a positive, supportive learning environment that results in high levels of achievement for all students. Funds are available for academic programs and strategies, additional teachers and other personnel, staff development, materials, supplies, technology, and parent training.

3 PARENTS’ RIGHT TO KNOW All parents have the right to request the following: A teacher’s professional qualifications, licensure, grade(s) certification, waivers A teacher’s baccalaureate and/or graduate degree, fields of endorsement, previous teaching experience A paraprofessional’s qualifications An annual notice of Student Education Records Privacy and notice for disclosure of School Directory Information An assurance that their child’s name, address and telephone listing not be released to military recruiters

4 PARENTS’ RIGHT TO KNOW All parents will receive information on the following: Their child’s level of achievement on each of the state’s academic assessments Notification of right to transfer their child to another school in the district if the student becomes the victim of a violent crime or is assigned to an unsafe school District Family Involvement Policy and School Family Engagement Policy Their right to public school choice, Supplemental Educational Services and more effective involvement if their child’s school is identified for school improvement

5 Family Engagement Policy Purpose: To partner with families in an effort to provide SCS students with a home/school/community environment that encourages academic achievement and performance standards. SCS Family Engagement Policy CES Family Engagement Plan (Handbook)

6 Parental Involvement Requirements Provide two-way communication between families, teachers, school leadership organizations, the district and the community. To provide opportunities for families to be involved with school leadership, activities and programs to support student achievement To provide training opportunities and informational seminars for parents to assist them to understand standards and academic content to better assist their children in improving academic performance.

8 PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES Thursday, September 11, 2014 4:30pm – 7pm Thursday, February 12, 2015 4:30pm -7pm Request a conference with classroom teachers by making an appointment with your child’s teacher or by contacting the school’s office for an appointment.
