Photoshop Opening and Transforming
2
Opening There are a couple of ways to open a document in Photoshop 1. Click on ‘File’ and select ‘New’ - Here we can choose the document size, the colour mode and DPI - Colour Modes 1. RGB (red, green, blue) Web Quality 2. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) Print Quality - DPI means (Dots Per Inch) This deals with image resolution. 72 DPI is Web Quality and 150 DPI is Print Quality.

Opening 2. Another way to ‘open’ an image is to simply ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ or ‘ open’ up the image from your pictures files. The more images that you pull into your document - the more ‘ layers’ that you have. Let’s open a document.

Transforming An Image Use a ‘selection tool’ to select your image and create a new layer within the image. Selection Tools 1. Magnetic Tool (sticks to select areas) 2. Magic Wand (select pixel area at a magic click) 3. Polygon Tool (straight line selection) 4. Eraser Tool (for if you make a mistake)
5
Transforming Transforming an image means making it bigger, smaller, tilted, rotated, flipped, skewed, warped and scaled. First select your image!! To ‘transform’ an image click ‘edit’ and click ‘transform’ to see all your options. Other ways to ‘transform’ is the liquefy tool, textured blending options.
