The Chemical make up & The Processes used to make it………… What some people never think about is what is in their ink? Tattoo inks are made up a variety of different items. Tattoo artists often make their own inks creating their own color and styles. Tattoo inks were originally created from items found in nature making color variations minimal and often less vibrant in color than today inks. Today, inks can be found in an unlimited number of colors and pigments. One of the most common types of tattoo ink pigment is acrylontrile Getting a tattoo can be an exciting adventure on that butadiene styrene, or ABS plastic. Titanium dioxide, iron oxide, carbon black, naphthol derivates are just a few of the other items used to make ink pigments. Pelican ink or India ink are known for being used by amateurs and tend to be less vibrant in color than inks containing ABS.Because tattoo inks are customized by the tattoo artists, regulating these pigments can be extremely difficult. Cosmetic tattooing is left primarily up to state regulations. If you are considering getting a tattoo it important to know your artist. You have to understand where and how they get their inks. How the existence, discovery,or development of this substance occurred…… The word tattoo comes from the Tahitian "tatu" which means "to mark something."It is arguably claimed that tattooing has existed since 12,000 years BC. The purpose of tattooing has varies from culture to culture and its place on the time line. But there are commonalties that prevail form the earliest known tattoos to those being done on college students on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley.Tattoos have always had an important role in ritual and tradition. In Borneo, women tattooed their symbols on their forearm indicating their particular skill. If a woman wore a symbol indicating she was a skilled weaver, her status as prime marriageable material was increased. Tattoos around the wrist and fingers were believed to ward away illness. Throughout history tattoos have signified membership in a clan or society.
