3 Analytical Essay Format  Intro: Funnel (similar to point by point thesis)  Body 1: TPEPE (Similar to a block body paragraph)  Body 2: TPEPE (Similar to a block body paragraph)  Body 3: TPEPE (Similar to a block body paragraph)  Conclusion: PEST

4 Analytical Essays  Very similar to compare/contrast essays, but is more of a CRITIQUE than a SUMMARY.  NEVER use personal pronouns in an analytical essay, even though you are giving your opinion.  “I think Lincoln was a good leader”  “Lincoln was a good leader.”  “In my opinion, Mufassa was a better dad than Simba”  Mufassa was a better dad than Simba.  “I really liked this poem because it’s funny”  “This poem is enjoyable because it is funny.
