Forum Name Type Description Subscription Tracking …. Others Edition / Translation
26
Forum types A single simple discussion - is just a single topic, all on one page. Useful for short, focused discussions. Standard forum for general use - is an open forum where any one can start a new topic at any time. This is the best general- purpose forum. Each person posts one discussion - Each person can post exactly one new discussion topic (everyone can reply to them though). This is useful when you want each trainee to start a discussion about, say, their reflections on the week's topic, and everyone else responds to these. Q And A Forum - The Q & A forum requires trainees to post their perspectives before viewing other trainees' postings. After the initial posting, trainees can view and respond to others' postings. This feature allows equal initial posting opportunity among all trainees, thus encouraging original and independent thinking Edition / Translation
27
Forum options Subscription –If active, the user will receive an email by every post to the forum. Tracking –The trainees could easily know which comment he has already read, and which not. –Trainer could know the same by any trainee. Edition / Translation

33
Online learning Advantages –Asynchronous communication. Trainees could choose its time table –Journey is not required –Large time to reply, thinking time increase. Conclusions would be deeper Danger –Motivation Methodology
35
Motivation Group feeling –They are part of the class Presence feeling –Not to feel isolation Framework known –Why are we doing anything? Tracking –Their actions should receive a reply from us or the class –Their participations should be commented. Utile matters for day to day work –Objectives and activities oriented to their necessities Methodology
36
Some tips: Session 0 Present the group –Trainer to trainees and trainees to trainees Present the training platform –The tools to interact with the trainees will not be a problem anymore Present the course –Objectives and capabilities they will achieve –Talk about methodology, the way to achieve the objectives Give some contents –Choose a easy content that all users could participate –Don’t call this session “Presentation”: Absence danger –The should feel they are learning since the beginning. Methodology
37
Some tips: Group feeling Friend conversations –Activities based on conversation about subjects they dominate or asking for their opinion –Work about their own anecdotes –Mark relationship between the contents theory and their business and experiences Comment their participation mentioning the author –“Like Pepe had told, …..” –“What is your opinion about Inma comment?” Methodology
41
Some tips: Tactics for activities Ask for opinions and drive the conversation to your concepts Propose two different teams, and a discussion about a subject: –Pro and contras about an action or … –Advantages of different methods Ask for a definition of a concept (important knowledge for trainer). –Finally, give the correct definition, as a resource or as a comment. Comment reading by teams, and later comment the comments of other teams. Propose activities to correct, like in a classroom –Important the work in the guide, resources and trainer interaction –Explain the exercise to other teams (without guide, resources, trainer) Develop an exercise, part by part –Increasing difficulty. Exposing solutions. –Resources could be: videos, similar solved cases, manuals –Generate little doubts and wait for them to ask for the solution Methodology
45
Prop.: face2face vs online sessions They should be prepared in a different way: Resources: –Video, reads, solved example, cases, trainer interaction, … Type of activities –Face to face: Simulations: Interaction where time is important. Basics of instrumental tools Preparatory to online activities –Online Conversations, debates, cooperations Methodology
46
Proposals: Blended strategy Face to face –Basic contents & explanation of online activities –Work on required feelings and motivation –Direct interactions with trainer and other trainees Online –Work on attractive (and/or utile) activities –Adapt activities to trainee problems –Take profit from flexibility, enlarged thinking time and deeper conclusions Methodology
