INTRODUCTION VR is generally a computer generated environment that makes the user think that they are in the real environment. Virtual world is hosted on a computer in the form of database. Virtual objects consists of polygon It will have a position (x,y,z) an orientation as well as attributes.

5
HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY Channels the images from the screens to the eyes, presenting a stereo view of a virtual world. Continuously measures the position of users head and adjust the scene representation to the current view. Viewer can realize the surrounding virtual environment
6
BOOM Head coupled stereoscopic display device. User looks into the box through two holes sees the virtual world. Head tracking is accomplished through sensors in the links of arm that holds the box.
7
VIRTUAL RETINAL SYSTEM Visual display device that uses scanned light beams. Instead of viewing a screen the user gets the image scanned directly into the eye. Every small spot is focused onto the retina. Uses low power and very bright.
8
Applications To develop nanotechnology devices and chemical systems. NASA uses 3 dimensional simulations of the space station, the landscape of MARS were constructed. Image guided surgery in medical field. Searching of networked databases and libraries.
9

CONCLUSION VR is new but rapidly growing area in medicine which will revolutionize the health care in future. The impact of this technology is just beginning to recognized to technical breakthrough in the past few years. physician patient relationship must be incorporated into new systems.
