A set is a collection of things. A lot of times in math, we'll use set notation when our variable could equal a whole lot of different numbers. (This usually is the case with inequalities.)
5
Use words to describe the conditions for x!
6
Interval notation is a simpler way to write set notation using parentheses and brackets.
8
In one color, highlight all of the words that mean domain In another color, highlight all of the words that mean range
9
To find the domain, highlight all of the graphs INPUTS on the X-AXIS Domain:
10
To find the range, highlight all of the graphs OUTPUTS on the Y-AXIS Range:
11
Domain: Range:
14
With a partner match the Domain/Range to the appropriate graph. When completed turn in to Mrs. Sawyer and begin your homework!
15
On a sheet of paper complete the following: 1)What does “Domain” mean? 2)What does “Range” mean? 3)Tell me one thing you learned today. (other than 1 & 2) 4)Which parts of today’s lesson are you still struggling with?
