8. Solubility Research Remember Solubility = an ability of a substance to dissolve A solute’s solubility depends on : type of solvent used the temperature of both the solute and solvent particle size The most common solvent = water known as the “universal solvent”

9. Hypothesis Hypothesis: If I heat up a solvent, then the solubility will…..(complete your answer picking one statement below and writing the entire sentence in your notebook) 1. Increase (more solute will dissolve) or 2. Decrease (less solute will dissolve) or 3. Remain the same (temperature has no effect)
