2. What genre/s of music will your magazine cover? Reggae
Who is the target audience? How old are they? Where do they live? What are their interests? Target audience is 16yrs -25yrs, lives mainly down south london, interested in new/latest music, ring tones, concerts..
What is the name of your magazine? Why? Connotation?
What will your masthead look like? Do you have any ideas for fonts? (this should be accompanied by sketches) thick & bold, colours- green yellow black red because reggae music originated from Jamaica & that’s their main colours
What will be the focal image for your front cover & why? Picture of a person playing with the decks with big headphones because reggae music is normally listened to the most from a record shop
What photography will be required? Give details in shot type, angle & position mid shots would be useful to show the target market a clear view of the artists on the front cover. A close up could be used in the interview to get up close & personal to the artists.
What mise en scene will be required? Location? Clothing? Make up? Lighting? Use of colour? Record shop- mainly where this type of genre music is sold, baggy/ loose clothes- more comfortable , high key lighting or front lighting
What would be your sell lines? How will you entice your target audience? I’ll have the name of different artists big & bold with their newest single/ album & other things including what’s included in the magazine like competitions, tickets
What items & feature articles would you need on your contents page? A letter from the editor with a mini mid shot picture, lists of what’s inside the magazine with page numbers, & some small pictures added with some of the contents to make it look more professional
What is the focus of your double page spread? (interview? Feature? Reviews? etc) ill have interview of the main artists, concerts coming up, what’s old (2009 music)& what’s new (2010 music)
What photography will be required for the double page spread? Give specific details. Pictures of the artists that is getting interviewed with including mid shots, long shots, front lighting, silhouette pictures etc, pictures of new singles /album covers
