3 The main job of this Faculty Senate Standing Committee is to nominate faculty members for election/selection to all the senate and joint committees and be available to make recommendations for presidential committees. 4 Responsibilities: Serve as a nominating committee for the elected members of all Senate Committees and Joint Committees. The committee shall be available to the President for recommendations for Presidential Committees. Criteria for Consideration of Nominees:  Diverse faculty representation by faculty drawn from the entire University at all appropriate ranks.  Selection of highly qualified faculty members where specific expertise is required.  Through committee service, development of a fully engaged faculty dedicated to service as a crucial third component of the teaching, research and service mission.

5 During the 2004-2005 academic year, the Senate Nominating Committee assisted with:  election procedures and candidate slates for the Policy Councils.  recommendations as requested for replacement members on all committees.  development of a timeline for the election of the senate chair-elect, 2005-2006.
