1 Directions Directions:  Each group is required to create one PowerPoint presentation based on an assigned reading.  The ideas that must be covered in the presentation are outlined on the next slide. Each bullet point represents at least one slide.  Each group member is required to present at least one slide.  Presentations must last between 8 to10 minutes.  Follow the sample templates that follow for further instructions.

3 TITLE OF ARTICLE (PUBLICATION DATE) Name of author(s) Names of class group members

4 Thesis Statement Identify the PIRATE category/categories represented in the article  Provide the main argument/thesis statement of the article in the form of a direct quote(s) or as a summary in your own words.

5 Article Summary  Summarize the main ideas of the article in at least 5 sentences.  Make sure to explain where the topic of the article fits within the rest of world history.

6 Evidence PIRATE category/categories relating to evidence Provide evidence in the form of a direct quote. Quotes should be no longer than 100 words in length. Provide the reasoning or explanation connecting evidence to the thesis statement. Often This answer to the question, “so what?” Quote Warrant

7 Conclusion Summarize the article’s conclusion. Make sure to emphasize the article’s thesis and evidence. This should roughly sentences in length. Write at least one question that provides direction for further research on the topic of the article.

8 Article Assessment Write brief review of the article that assess its contributions to the field of world history. In other words, what did the article add to your understanding of world history?
