1 Detailed Design Style – Italian Art Deco Background The Italian pavilion at the 1925 Paris exposition was decked out in antique Roman appointments consistent with D’Annuzio’s rethoric about the glorious Italian past. Italian decorative art between the wars was an odd coupling of both Modernist and classical conceits. Characteristic A Futurist-inspired, decorative style of illustration, layout and typography dominated Italian commercial design.
