1 Detailed Design Style – Italian Art Deco Background The Italian pavilion at the 1925 Paris exposition was decked out in antique Roman appointments consistent with D’Annuzio’s rethoric about the glorious Italian past. Italian decorative art between the wars was an odd coupling of both Modernist and classical conceits. Characteristic A Futurist-inspired, decorative style of illustration, layout and typography dominated Italian commercial design.

3 Detailed Design Style – Streamline Background Streamlining was more than a distinctly American modern style, it was a metaphor of a new epoch. The marriage of art, industry, and science, it was passionately practiced by a new profession of industrial designers, who applied themselves to the aerodynamic redesign of all sorts of machinery.
