THEORY ASSESSMENT May 2014 1 ½ hour examination 80 marks available Multiple choice Short answer questions Extended writing questions

PRACTICAL CONTENT Participate in a range of sporting activities to develop Health and Skill Related components of Fitness Participate in specific sporting activities to develop understanding and application of skills and tactics Lead each other in small groups through skills and tactics of specific sports Assess each other using the GCSE grading criteria 0-10

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT 4 practical performances will be marked out of 10. You can choose the role you are assessed in: Performer (must be at least 2 sports) Official Leader Pupil’s must choose at least two sports from different activity areas 48% practical performance and 12% analysis of performance. Plan, perform and evaluate a Health-Related Personal Exercise Programme (PEP)

Four activities chosen from at least two of the following groups: Group A OUTWITTING OPPONENTS Including football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, rugby, netball, Water polo Group B ACCURATE REPLICATION OF ACTIONS, PHRASES AND SEQUENCES Including Synchronised Swimming, Trampolining, Gymnastics Group C EXPLORING AND COMMUNICATING IDEAS Dance, Ice Dance PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

Group D PERFORMING AT MAXIMUM LEVEL IN RELATION TO SPEED, HEIGHT, DISTANCE OR STRENGTH EG Golf, Cycling, Weightlifting Group E IDENTIFYING AND SOLVING PROBLEMS Climbing, Windsurfing, Personal Survival Group F EXERCISING SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELLBEING Yoga, Circuit Training, Pilates
