RELAY 4 LIFE Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. Relay offers something for everyone, from the newly diagnosed, to caregivers and friends, to long-term survivors.

RELAY 4 LIFE Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. I participated in Relay 4 Life with my sorority, because I knew it would be a great time to spend with my sisters, and because my mother is a cancer survivor.

All monies raised stay in the local community for patient care, new equipment and research into children's diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Since 1986, Phi Mus have raised almost $4 million. Our fund-raising goal is $500,000 each calendar year.

Why community service in important Community service is great for everyone. It gives you the chance to do something that will benefit someone else and most of the time it benefits more than just one person. It allows you to give back to the community, and to help the underprivileged.
12
My Experiences I love doing community service, and I have been doing it for about four years now. In those four years I have had the chance to do some really neat things. One of my favorites was taking the women at the Haven a Mother’s Day lunch. The best experience, though, is seeing the smiles that are given to you after you have helped someone.
13
Will I continue? I know I will continue to do community service. I really enjoy participating in community service and helping other people. With my sorority, community service is very important, which is another reason I will continue doing it.
14
My Opinion I think that community service is tons of fun. Yes, it can be hard work, and sometimes it is strenuous, but it is a terrific thing to do. It is good for everyone, because it help others, and it helps the person doing it. I think each service performed is a learning experience that benefits both the giver and the receiver.
