PE Outdoor kit : plain white t-shirt; navy, grey or black plain tracksuit; suitable trainers Indoor kit : plain white t-shirt; plain, navy, grey or black shorts Tuesday and Wednesday sessions No kit three times – letter home All kit must have children’s names in

House System Rubies, Diamonds, Sapphires and Emeralds Year 6 children House and Sports’ captains. Voted for by their peers

Expectations of your Child Readiness for High School Organisation (PE kit, homework diaries, toilet during lesson time) Encouraging independence Jobs around school (playmakers & dinner monitors etc) Attitude Buzz words Respect, Organisation and Attitude

Curriculum Coverage Numeracy, Literacy & Guided Reading are all taught daily Science, French, Computing & PSHE are taught weekly Other curriculum subjects may be taught on a rotational basis but over the course of the academic year, all objectives will be covered

Homework Set weekly Maths & Literacy (at least one of these) Learning logs with open ended tasks (not always set weekly) Handed out on a Friday, expected back in on a Tuesday Homework club on a Monday lunchtime If homework is not in by Wednesday children spend playtime & lunchtime completing it

Spelling Children will no longer have spellings sent home with a test every week. Children will be learning spelling patterns relevant to their learning needs and year group. Parents will still be able to support their child at home following the guidance to be given to you this evening.

Positive Behaviour Management Same system throughout school from Nursery to Year 6. Traffic light system used. Friday activites House points system Merit box (please remember that your child may receive this more than once or perhaps not at all)
