Subordinating Conjunctions ◦ These conjunctions connect two complete ideas by making one of the ideas subordinate, or less important than, the other.

◦ Put commas after whenever the clause comes at the beginning of the sentence. Because Carol practices, she is a good artist. ◦ Put commas around whenever the clause comes in the middle of the sentence. Navajo silversmiths are among the most talented and creative in the world. Even though they are immensely skilled in working silver, they are relative new to the craft.
