He retired in 1889 though. Just 11 years later after he retired the Madison cable car was built. Boeing Boeing was the first airplane company in Seattle and the most important. July 14, 1916 Pacific aero production Company (Boeing) was created. Wong Tsu created the first airplane that was called a model-c airplane. In World War 1 Boeing made airplanes for the U.S.A, which made it grow because they got Noticed and got a lot of money.

Cars and Roads From 1855-1951 there was a big change in Seattle history. Only few roads were planked or paves outside downtown Seattle. The first adds for cars appeared in Seattle Times. In 1901 UPS started. Later the first electric car was built.

Boats In 1855 about 100 people lived in Seattle Most worked in shipyards. The same year there were only two small steamers in the Puget Sound. On June first 1951 Washington State Ferries began transporting through the Puget sound.
