2. What Is the Binary System The Binary System is the system of which information and Data is sent from one part of the computer to the next. The Binary System uses a series of ones (1) and zeroes (0).

3. How does the Binary system work? The Binary System works by sending little “on/off” switches [1’s and 0’s] telling the computer what to do and causing the computer to react in the correct way, eg, 01101 is the number thirteen[13]. These numbers then tell the computer what to display and where. The flow of ones and zeroes is endless and the computer can understand all of it which is how we get our letters and numbers on the screen from the computer itself.

4. Why Is the Binary System Important for Computers? The Binary System is important for Computers because otherwise they would never be able to understand anything we tell it. Also CD’s and other things we put into the computers for us to use uses the Binary system. On a CD the Binary System is portrayed as little “hills and valleys” or ups and downs. The up or “hills” are the ones [1] and the downs or “valleys” are the zeroes [0]. These then tell the computer what to do so the program will work.

5. The ASCII code and the Binary Number System. The ASCII code is the encryption for the english alphabet. The ASCII code is the number. If you convert this number to Binary you get a whole heap of [1’s and 0’s]. For example if you take the letter “M”, the ASCII number is 77 and the Binary code for it is [01001101]
