Downtown Abbey Vampire Diaries Gotham Game of Thrones Doctor Who Period/Costume dramas, sometimes considered to be historical dramas in the light of dramas such as ‘Downtown Abbey’ are dramas which are a portrayal of a certain time period or theme. For example ‘Doctor Who’ portrays a futuristic theme and a huge aspect of allowing the audience to understand the on screen activity is through the use of costume etc.
